The City of Carson’s Annual Filipino American History Month Kick Off event is taking place on October 7, 2017 (Saturday) at the Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson Street, Carson, CA 90745. Members of the Filipino American community are invited. The event highlights an awards ceremony for community leadership, youth achievement, and heroism (World War II Veteran), as well as a FilAms Got Talent Contest.

Award-winning Filipino actress and singer, Geneva Cruz, is the event’s headliner.

The following is the schedule of activities at the venue:

8:00 am to 9:00 am – Morning refreshments @ the East Parking Lot Area
9:00 am to 9:15 am – Wreath-Laying Ceremony @ the Dr. Jose P. Rizal Monument
9:30 am to 12:00 pm – Program Proper @ the Carson Dominguez Room
