Los Angeles, 9 November 2011 – The 1st
Philippine International Bio Energy Conference (PIBCA), with the theme,
“Green
Investments: Providing Solutions towards Energy Sustainability”, is
scheduled to be held on January 12-13, 2012 at the Fiesta Pavilion of the
Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park in Manila, Philippines.
The event will gather
local and international experts from the renewable energy industry,
agricultural community, and representatives from government and the private
sector to discuss issues on bioenergy research and development, as well as
the economically viable and environmentally sustainable production and
utilization of biofuels and biomass supply.
The dates of the
conference will coincide with the celebration of the third anniversary of
the Philippine Renewable Energy Act of 2008 (Republic Act 9513) and the
fifth year of the implementation of the Biofuels Act of 2006 (Republic Act
9367).
Presentations will
cover the current state of the industry in terms of research, investments
and technologies in key areas of bioenergy production.
It will be an
opportune gathering to interact directly with possible investors and
technology providers for bioenergy that may bring the business to the
global marketplace.
PIBCA is jointly organized
by the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Philippine Agricultural
Development and Commercial Corporation (PADCC), Department of Agrarian
Reform (DAR), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR),
the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Biofuels Board (NBB).
